Trump Again: Hopeful for a Gaza Ceasefire Agreement in the Coming Days

Former U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his hope early this Monday for a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and a prisoner exchange deal to be reached this week.

Trump made these comments to reporters while stopping at Andrews Joint Base in Maryland, where he stated: “We are in talks, and we hope to resolve the matter in the coming days.”

The United States supports a proposed 60-day ceasefire, which includes the phased release of hostages in Gaza, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from specific areas of the region, and the resumption of negotiations aimed at ending the conflict permanently.

Sharp Dispute within Israeli Cabinet Over “Humanitarian City” in Rafah

Israeli media reported this morning, Monday, July 14, 2025, that a sharp dispute erupted during the Israeli Security and Political Cabinet meeting held last night regarding the proposed establishment of a “humanitarian city” in Rafah, southern Gaza.

Israeli military representatives estimated during the cabinet session that creating the “humanitarian city” in Rafah would take more than a year, with costs ranging between $10 to $15 billion. This contradicts previous estimates that suggested the possibility of constructing a massive tent camp to house hundreds of thousands of Gaza’s residents within six months.

According to Channel 12, a political source who attended the Cabinet meeting last night stated, “The Prime Minister firmly rejected the Israeli military’s and Ministry of Defense’s comments on the ‘humanitarian city’ plan in Rafah. He said he understood that this was their way of preventing the project from happening, but he is determined to implement it.”

The source added, “After a lengthy discussion, he asked them to come up with an alternative plan by tomorrow that is simpler, faster, and less costly, so that it can be practically implemented.”

Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya Subjected to “Brutal Torture” in Israeli Prisons

The lawyer of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya revealed today, Monday, that he has been subjected to dire conditions of detention in Israeli prisons, including brutal torture, which resulted in a loss of 40 kilograms of his body weight.

In a post on her Facebook page, the lawyer explained that Dr. Abu Safiya was violently beaten in areas such as his chest, face, head, and neck for about 30 minutes, which caused severe injuries.

She pointed out that the Israeli authorities refused to provide him with necessary medical treatment or medications and withheld his access to a specialist doctor, despite his urgent need for medical care, especially due to irregular heartbeats.

The lawyer further added that Dr. Abu Safiya continues to wear heavy winter clothes despite the harsh detention conditions, which include starvation, torture, and solitary confinement. She confirmed that he remains in an underground cell with no sunlight.

Field Hospital in Khan Younis Warns of Imminent Shutdown

Kuwait Field Hospital in the Mawasi area of Khan Younis issued a warning today, Monday, July 14, 2025, about the impending shutdown within 48 hours due to a fuel shortage for its generators. The hospital also faces a critical shortage of medicines and medical supplies, which threatens the lives of patients and injured individuals and severely hampers the ability to provide necessary care.

Gaza Health Ministry: 360 Medical Personnel Arrested Since the Beginning of the Genocidal Assault

The Gaza Health Ministry reported that 360 healthcare personnel have been arrested since the start of the ongoing Israeli offensive on Gaza in October 2023, including skilled doctors with critical expertise. The ministry’s statement highlighted the severe conditions faced by the arrested medical staff, with a particular focus on Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, who has been subjected to torture during his detention and has been denied medical treatment.

Germany Opposes Israel’s “Humanitarian City” Plan in Rafah

Germany has expressed its opposition to Israel’s plan to establish a so-called “humanitarian city” in Rafah, southern Gaza. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz criticized Israeli practices in Gaza, asserting that the Palestinian people have the right to live in a place where they can thrive, and that the current situation in Gaza is unacceptable. Merz emphasized his hope for a two-state solution to the Palestinian issue through collaboration with the U.S. administration.

Netanyahu Faces Court Again Over Corruption Charges

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s trial resumed today, Monday, at the Central Court in Tel Aviv after a month-long break. The case, known as “File 1000,” involves charges of fraud and breach of trust related to gifts he and his wife allegedly received from Israeli-American film producer Arnon Milchan. The prosecution began questioning Netanyahu on June 3, following the previous investigation into his alleged preferential treatment toward Bezeq’s owner, Shaul Elovitch.

Israeli Settlers Block Aid Trucks to Gaza

Israeli settlers reportedly blocked aid trucks traveling from Jordan through the King Hussein Bridge (Allenby Bridge) to Gaza. The settlers, described as members of the “Order 9” movement, which is a far-right extremist group, obstructed the trucks carrying vital humanitarian aid for Gaza, amid ongoing Israeli blockades and the ongoing violence in the region.

Jordanian Charity Coordination for Gaza Aid Continues

The Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization announced that it continues coordinating with international organizations to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. The charity has sent its 178th aid convoy, comprising 50 trucks, with a focus on the northern regions of Gaza.

Hamas: Negotiations in Doha Ongoing Despite Israeli Obstructions

Hamas sources confirmed that negotiations are still ongoing in Doha for a temporary ceasefire and a prisoner swap agreement, despite Israeli efforts to obstruct progress. The sources noted that while partial progress has been made, Israeli negotiators continue to delay discussions and refuse to engage in certain details until they receive further instructions from Israeli officials.
